Indonesia is one of the popular destinations for underwater photography and videos. Worldwide photographers choose Indonesia as it has crystal clear underwater, which promotes them to shoot wide-angled photographs of the exotic marine creatures. Some destinations in Bali are well-known for micro underwater photography and dive site.

Indonesia comes under the renowned Golden Triangle that includes Solomon Islands, Borneo and Philippines where one could find large varieties of fishes such as bumphead parrotfish, boxfish, catfish, etc. Speedboat diving is also extensively enjoyed by the Indonesian tourists to shoot big pelagic in Manta and Bali; and Mambo or Ocean Sunfish in Nusa Penidia.

Bali offers a range of dive sites that include Menjangan Island, Secret bay, Padang bai, Puri jati, Manta point, Nusa penida and Tulamben. Ambon is popular for Spice Islands where one could spot great range of healthy corals, seahorses small shark reefs and other marine animals. Volcanic Lembeh Strait is situated towards the eastern part of Sulawesi, which is famous for night dives to spot thorny seahorses, snake eels, juvenile scorpions, octopus, cuttlefish, cockatoo waspfishes and many other marine species. Komodo is rich in aquatic creatures, but it is not as green as Bali. It has for the famous Cannibal Rock, extensive reefs and small exclusive such as sea cucumber, sea apple, Colman’s shrimp, pygmy seahorses, etc. Sanagalaki and Maratua are the greatest nesting sites popular for green turtles and the world’s largest jelly fish lake, the Kakaban.

Indonesia’s extreme and diverse marine species are worth viewing. Few agencies offer typical muck diving with diversified marine critters. Some of them offer tours and experienced guides for naive travelers and underwater photographers.
